| Biography | I lost my hearing at age 6. I have been drawing and painting since then. I recieved a cochlear implant about 3 yrs ago and to hear everything for the 1st time is just so amazing, to own my own cell phone, to listening to music, to hearing my son's voice and all the sounds of nature, it's just amazing. I am a self-taught artist who beleives there is no limit in art and to express yourself in any way you wish regardless of what others think. Creating art is my passion and my escape. |

Hi Heidi, congrats on your cochlear implant. I know it must have been a difficult decision to make, but it sounds like it was worth it. I have a brother who lost his hearing at the age of 2. He is partially hearing, but really is stuck in between the hearing and deaf world. I don't know if he is a canidate for an implant or not. But I don't think he plans on getting one. Unfortunately he leaves in a world of depression, all seemingly related to his hearing loss. Anyway, regarding your art. I love your fairies. You have a wonderful talent and found a great way of expressing it.

Hi Heidi, "Fairy Princess" somehow shows where your personal art & expression may lead to. Your approach, style, etc.. to art-making however has a lot of possibilities only you can direct, focus in, and master.
