Hi SallyMae,
Wow, how nice of you. Actually, Marcello is not my real name but it's the name I sometimes use to sign my paintings. My name is Mark and I kind of combined it with Michaelangelo (not I hasten to add because I think I have any of his skill but I admire his dedication and creativity) and Donatello - so there you go. But Marcella is a lovely name. Thanks for your comments re Girl with a Violin. Best wishes to you.

Hello Marcello, love your name so much I named my daughter Marcella. Also love your 'Girl with Violin', the fabric of her dress, the patina of the door, the shadows on the chair and on the wall...really really great.

Hi Marcello .. Thanks for your comments, actually I just sort of 'live' or 'feel' the emotions before painting them. And the look of hurt is one of them. I just browse a lot on the internet to visit loads of galleries and religious images, listening to religious music and so on to get that feeling before I start. And then when I start painting I could feel the right colours to use as I emphasize a lot on the colours light and shade effect. At the moment I'm taking a break just to clear a bit my mind. And since I get back home from work very late, I cannot concentrate much on my painting so at the moment I'm just browsing the net and have loads of ideas. Then when my inspirations starts to sparkle again nothing stops me to put my mind and soul to my work :)) Hope I will have more work to come in in the future :)

Hi Margaret. Thanks for your comments. I admire your work and your website - the layout is very original. Some of your work reminds me of James Ensor's Skeletons Fighting for the Body of a Hanged Man - don't know why. Best wishes,
Mark

Susuie, one of the friends listed at your site, is ill. A get well letter would do her heart good and cheer her up a bit. We live in a world that does not apriciate art. We must care for eachother. So leave a post on he board if you have time. L John TOX

That's funny. Sounds like she feels lonely in the painting. That's so cute. You're just going to have to do another one. :) Have a nice weekend. ~Mare

My son is 6. There was a time I would not let him paint in my studio. Then one day I looked around and saw paint on the rug, on the wall and the curtains and realized it was all from me. That's when I said, it's an art studio, it's going to get a little messy. So now if he wants to paint, I let him use my studio, easel, canvas and acrylic paints. I also try not to worry about the expense too allow him to be free to create. As far as him being artistic, I think all children naturally are. I am happy that at age 6 he can create something and be very proud of the end result. Good luck completing the portrait and let me know when you're done.

So how old is your daughter? I have a 6 year old son. I have not painted him yet. Maybe one of these days. Let me know when you are finished, I'd love to see it. Is the exhibition just your work, or are other artists involved? How many pieces will you show? Is there a theme?

I was wondering if anyone throughout this site has ever received an enquiry from a buyer, gallery owner, or similar?
