| Biography | I starts to learn drawing, painting and printmaking at an early age from my father, Rubén Rivera Aponte, who is a well known painter and printmaker.
In 1981, my pencil drawing “Germination, Repression” wins first mention at the prestigious “Certamen de Artes Plásticas" sponsored by Revista Sin Nombre.
In 1990 I opens a traditional 2D animation studio. My short ”Boxhead” won first prize at “Cinextremos Film Festival” in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1996, I wins the “Premio Al Merito” given by the “Fondo Nacional Para el Financiamiento de Quehacer Cultural, Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña” for my achievements as an independent animator.
In 1998 I begins to concentrate on web design and the artistic and multimedia possibilities of advanced digital medium, developing additional skills in programs like Photoshop, Painter, Flash and Director.
Recently my drawing "Larvas II" wins a Honorific Mention at the "Bienal del Dibujo de Las Américas Rafael Cauduro". |
