Thanks for checking out my portrait Shar, and for your comments. I had started a more traditional self portrait a while ago and it really said nothing about me. This one seemed more fitting. One thing I have learned through this site is that in art, anything goes. Thanks again! :) ~Mare

Hi Shar, always good to see a kiwi displaying their art.Very colourful nice work you have. I don't have much time for sites like this these days, I have a website and leave it at that. The net gives me the shits actually, but thats 'progress'... Too much time wasting for me. All the best, Leon

Yes i am VERY lucky to be going to art school. Got two amazingly supportive partners who are right behind me. Makes all the difference and art school gives you heaps of confidence and just becouse you are creating all the time you start to come to grips with the whole creativity thing.

Lucky you going to art school, b_fre. I'd love to go there - ah well maybe one day! Didn't manage to get my hands dirty this weekend :-( but definitely during the week, or at the latest, next weekend. Watch this space!

Thanks for the compliment, Maz. I also like the bright colours you use. Colour is a big thing for me in my art. Love the way you paint your figures!

Hi Shar we definantly should meet some time. Yea my work is much the same process. Art school is teaching me skills but I never want to let go of the intuitive suprise element to my paintings. Have you got your hands dirty yet?

Hi b_fre. I haven't had much of a chance to do any art this week, but certainly got lots of ideas and inspiration from looking at the amazing work on this site. Now I just need to find the time to put my ideas into practice!
I work intuitively, letting the paint tell the story. Sometimes I have a basic idea of what I'm trying to achieve, but often what I had in mind is completely different from the final outcome.

Great to see another kiwi on here. Hows your art going this week. I have been really getting back into it after being inspired by this site. Back to art school in a week so I am enjoying just letting myself work intuitively. What is your process?

Hi Shar, I just saw your post regarding my untitled abstract piece. I don't have much to share about it. It started it out with one idea but just took on a life of it's own. It may actually become part of a series. Thanks for the postive feedback on it. I enjoyed checking out your happy work. Looks good. Your three hearts looks like a woman, it popped out right away. I also like the dragonfly. Keep up the good work, I can tell you are having fun with it! ~mare
