Interests and Personality
| Biography | I was born in Detroit, and grew up in the heyday of Motown. Early on I found a haven in drawing and painting that has continued to this day. Drawn to nature, I never had enough of it, and eventually gravitated to the countryside of Eastern Connecticut. On the way I spent two years at the College of Architecture and Design of the University of Michigan. I went back to college when my youngest child was a year old and finished a BA degree in Fine Arts at Eastern Connecticut State U. Finally, I discovered the answer to life, the universe and everything....it's 42. |
| Interests | Color, sunshine, new places, and parallel universes. |
| Music | Anything and everything. Depends on my mood. |
| Films | Independent and foreign films are my most recent passion, but I am also a sucker for romantic comedy and fantasy. |
| Television | what's that? |
| Books | I've been an inveterate bookworm since I learned to read, so just about anything, but I tend towards Sci Fi and Fantasy when I am reading for pleasure. Lord of the Rings forever! |
| Heroes | ~My Grandparents. They managed to travel from the Ukraine to Turkey in a wagon, in order to get on a crowded boat to the US, accompanied by three small children, including my mother.
~Anyone who has overcome the odds and still retains a heart ful of love. |
Exhibitions
As a member of the Norwich Arts Council from 1990 to 2001, I was part of yearly group shows and mounted solo and partnered shows on a frequent basis. Took part in shows at the Mystic Art Association, the Lyme Art Association, and at Art Space in Norwich. My work has been seen in small coffee shops and in yoga studios, as well as in banks and medical facilities. Some of my work now hangs in private homes and offices. I am happy to have my work brighten any space.

Hi! Listen, I have about 6 months to prepare for my first solo show, and I was hoping you could assist me. I will need to have at least 30 paintings to display. If you could, with as much honesty as possible, please name 2 of my completed pieces that you feel I should definitely show. Also, please share 3 things with me, based on my current work, (remember be honest), that you would recommend to me for improving my art in general. I am fine if you post this on my public board because it may be interesting to others. The feedback from other artist on this website is very valuable to me. Thanks! ~Marianne

Glad I stopped by. I think I like your 2007 "Color Pencil Work" the best, though I like all the movement in your other works as well.
