Associate Justice Jorge Bocobo Mural & Stamp '68-71

Description: I was an art student at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, CA, U.S.A. when I received a much awaited letter from my dear mother "Enyang" bearing a stamp that seemed quite familiar to me. Not too long from viewing it, I realized that it was a stamp print of the huge mural Dean Abad Santos and Atty. Israel Bocobo of the U.P. College of Law commissioned me to do for the late Justice Jorge Bocobo library. I wrote to them a bit complaining why they did not get my permission to print it into a stamp. It was one thing that I was paid for doing the mural but another for printing it into a stamp, I wrote. Because of my letter to them, I was sent the necessary peso amount in check and this first day issue copy of the stamps printed in P.15 centavo and P1.00 peso denomination stamps. Since then more requests for my art for stamps came in - - the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the United Nations stamps to mention a few. My inspiration while working on this mural was a line written by the late Justice Jorge Bocobo, "when the sun sets down, there shall be no resentment". Hi Glen, your work is fantastic and your out-put is amazing. How do you find time for anything besides Art ? It's not a pitfall from other artists point of view.
