| Biography | Since 1987, Klaus Guingand has created original pictorial works by immortalizing the (life-size)shadow of
international celebrities who have posed for him and have co-signed these work.
Each shadow is painted on a 78 x 60 inch canvas. 200 celebrities have posed for him;Steven Spielberg, Kate Moss, Léonardo DiCaprio, Catherine Deneuve, Oliver Stone, Helmut Newton,
Barbara Hendricks, Naomi Campbell,Karl Lagerfeld, Claudia Schiffer, Sean Penn
Cher, Kirk Douglas, Liza Minnelli, Robert Altman,Gérard Depardieu,John Galliano
Iggy Pop,Jean-Paul Gaultier,
Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Charles Aznavour, Peter Gabriel,
Brian Ferry, Léo Catselli, Pierre Restany and so many others!
Klaus Guingand was the first contemporary artist to exhibit at the Louvre (Foss Charles V) in Paris, in
1995. Léo Castelli opened his home to Guingand and also visited the artist in his Paris studio, the great
international art critic Pierre Restany, who actively supported him, were great friends. |
