Interests and Personality
| Biography | Graduated from Indiana University in May '07 with a major in Fine Arts and minors in Business and Art History. I've been interested in art ever since I can remember. I guess I was that kid who everyone wanted to have pics drawn for them. In kindergarten I think it was mostly ninja turtles. I plan on creating and expanding my skills for the rest of my life, whether it involves my job or not. I'm always open to advice, I know there are a lot of great artists out there on this site from what I've seen, so please let me know what you think. I just completed 2 different outdoor wall murals this summer upon graduating, so check them out under my "wall murals" page. |
| Interests | Music, playing percussions (as you can probably tell from my profile pic), hanging out with friends, going to concerts, painting, drawing, good people, the Chicago Cubs, Bears & Bulls |
| Music | Mostly rock, hip-hop, reggae, funk, jazz, soul, the Blues. To name a few artists; The Roots, G-Love, Citizen Cope, Led Zeppelin, Clapton, Muddy Waters, Jurassic 5, Tribe Called Quest, Paul Simon, Trey Anastasio, Beastie Boys, Michael Franti, the Marley family, String Cheese Incident, DMB, Allman Brothers, Grateful Dead, Incubus, Marvin Gaye, Al Greene, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson |
| Films | NY Stories (the 1st part), Waking Life, Blow, Dazed & Confused |
| Television | ESPN, Entourage |

Great landscapes, but your more abstract work is even better. Margaret, Artist at Work, http://artist-at-work.co.uk

Thanks for appreciating my art Jstak. I know, I have not been painting for very long. It surprises me often. I'll have an idea and think, and think, and think about it. Then I'll decide I just don't know how to do it. But, I start anyway by putting some paint on the canvas, and slowly it takes over, and the painting ends up painting itself. And I think...I did that? I don't even know how.

Hi John, great abstract works. I like "Tagged Abstract", but my favorites are your Musical Abstracts #2 and #4.

I like the way you really pay attention to the sky. I love all the clouds streaking across the sky in your dramatic sunsets. They are all very nice I can't believe those are from High School. You are very talented. Take pictures of your mural when you are done. Keep painting!!

Thanks for stopping by and regards to healingarts...I work from both real life and photo reference materials. I choose to interpret the photo and paint what I feel about it as opposed to copying it as is.

Glasper lives in Indy. You should visit is site, he does landscapes with beautiful sunsets. He is very inspiring. I noticed you were graduating in May, congrats! Do you have any job prospects? Good jobs are hard to come by in this area of the country.

I'm from Indiana too. I really like your abstracts. Lots of energy and bold strokes. I paint to music sometimes while I do my abstracts, really gives the painting some spice to your strokes. Your landscapes are very good too. Today would hve been a perfect day to paint outside, lots of sun. Have a good weekend.

"Storm at sea" is pretty unique; however, I also like the "untitled" one. Thanks for sharing, Marina :)
