Beautiful work. Have you been acquainted with the African-inspired animated films Kirikou and Azur et Asmar (French productions). If not, you should cuz you would love it! Best wishes and keep painting... Bev

Heh Marjet..please call me Blaze......thanks for the msg...Im doing a quick reply too...can I be nosy and ask what you do in Bali? Arthur Chondros has Ku De Ta and his partner Renee is family...I have been going there to paint for yrs tho haven't been for a while...I am not very social so don't know a lot of ex-pats however Arch and Rez do..Am probably going in August this year as we have the use of a house in Chunghu..wonderful place...extended family - Donni 1, is the DJ et al of KuDeTa and travels to Ibiza with Claude Calle from Buddha Bar in Paris...other close friends are Chilean and Spanish and go to apparently an amazing place...will have to check out the name...mmmm...Africa..do you believe in past lives? I come from a totally European/Russian cultural mix but Africa draws me like a magnet..something inside which doesn't make sense...sometimes...I find such extraordinary beauty in even the simplest things, the color, the music, the laughter...the pain too of the people living in the town cuts deep...seems so wrong in this world..so much in justice...and justice is a major issue for me..too big a topic to discuss here...and I am so relatively uninformed just 'feel' it....I would love to go..a past partner was South African and many of his stories made me feel I need to be well informed as to areas, cultrue etc....of course the wildlife would be the majick for me...I guess something in me is scarred to go incase my heart is broken open and I never want to return...your work Marjet does capture something I have not seen in other work..for me that is and it is always a personal reality...gotta fly..enjoy the talk...you guys are a good team! hahaha!happy days..oh yea...where in Ibiza do you live? xxxxxb.

Very colourful - though I do prefer the more monochromatic works as the contrasts stand out.

Heh Marjet, always a pleasure..been off line for ages so now revisiting this wonderful creative place...did I say before that your subject matter is dear to my heart and you capture such beauty ...truly....there is such strength in these people, souls of the ancients and their eyes are captivating...I spent many hours looking thru wonderful books capturing the colour and essence of the peoples of Africa....One of my favorites is the People of Kau, Leni Riefenstahl....not had the privilege of visiting Africa cept when I was a 3 yr. old..don't remeber it! haha! anyways thanks for visiting...oh yeh have family in Bali who spend time in Ibiza...apparently out of the tourist centres one of the most beautiful places on earth...lucky you!...happy days..xxxx b.
