Hi Steven, I have decided to leave this site but I wanted to thank you for being such an inspiration to me. Your paintings are often in my mind and someday I hope to paint with such freedom of spirit and expression. I hope all your recent showings went well. I'll stop by ever now and then to see anything new. If you want, post a message to me sometime on your board. Keep creating! ~Marianne

Art can be a fickle mistress sometimes. Hope all is well with you and best of luck with all that you do.

Hey, I just added "Light of Ireland II" to my New Work gallery. It is the last image on that page and is based on one of my photos in my Photography gallery with the same titled. I did this painting back in October. ~Mare

"I will be showing my art at the home of Russell Simmons for a benefit hosted by actress Jennifer Connelly" This sounds so exciting! How did it come about? When will it take place? Also, when are you heading to Japan? Have you been there before? Hey we had three house showings already this week, and another on Friday. OK, well keep up the fun!

Sorry, tried the link twice and couldn't get it to work. I've had some things that's kept me down for a few days, just getting over the flue. That's why I didn't get back to you right away. As for vidio, my friends have been after me to document some of my processes before they are lost so one of these days I'll do one too. My work is more about applications than raw expression and I suppose that's why I like artists like you so much. Hope your having a great week keeping it real, Mike

I love watching my son paint. He does so with such confidence; and usually when he is finished, he looks at his painting with such pride. He really enjoys it. I don't remember being that way as a child. He is a lot of fun to watch and always opens doorways for me. He is pure and simple. Just creating for the sake of creating and could teach anyone a few things. Regarding the '56 T-Bird. I drew that in high school. That has always been my favorite car. I love the smooth lines, the portholes in the hardtop, the tailfins, the round lights, the spare tire. I think I owned one in a past life. :)

Well, we'll see how things go in Maryland. Then maybe I'll branch out to NY. I am Philadelphia and NJ, so I may see what I can do there. Considering what both you and Blaze had to say about the large canvases, I think once I move I will give it a try. I was thinking about the best way to set up my studio to accommadate large canvases. Do you use acrylic? What is the best way to clean those large brushes? Anyway, sounds like you have so many exciting things going on at the moment. Continue to keep me posted so I can live through you for awhile...atleast until I get settled. ~Mare

Heh ya..checke out your video..luved it...wow that space..!!! your work is soo immediate and it is great to see you painting...I for a moment beame part of your work..my experience is that people luv to see one painting...grteat selling tool too because you involve others in an intimate part of self which is always a gift and establish a more intimate relationship...me thinks anyways.....I luv working big, not knowing what I am going to do , paint with the whole body rather than just the upper part as with a smaller piece...really inspiring...the interactive thing..takes the academic out of it a bit!!! great stuff!! you deal with social realities in a confronting way....xxx...b.

Not in Maryland yet. We did purchase a house there but won't go to settlement until we sell our home here in Florida. We've had a lot of showings so far though. Ha, just reading about showing in NY makes me nervous. :) I don't know if I am ready for that yet. We'll see what happens after the move. I was thinking more about your video. I like the idea of having the tarps on the wall and working on the big canvases. I guess you need a lot of space for canvases that size, unless you can sell them and move them out as you create new ones. It feels like it would be intimidating for me to work on large canvases like that. The biggest canvas I have worked on is 36" x 30". Hmmmm, maybe it would help free myself a bit. I'll have to think about it some more before I get into my new studio space in Maryland. ~Mare
